Shining Bronze-cuckoo (Chalcites lucidus) — 15–18 cm. Brilliant metallic green above; heavily barred white-and-green below; curved bill. Breeds in Australia, New Zealand, and the SW Pacific; migrates to New Guinea and Melanesia wintering. Brood parasite targeting gerygones. Insectivore. A remarkable long-distance migrant covering 3,000+ km.

Lesser Roadrunner (Geococcyx velox) — 46–52 cm. Similar to Greater Roadrunner but smaller with a more streaked breast. Found in dry scrub, open woodland, and arid valleys from Mexico to Nicaragua. Non-parasitic; carnivorous; eats insects and small vertebrates. Shares the same terrestrial running lifestyle as its northern relative.
