Common Sandpiper: 19–21 cm, small olive-brown sandpiper with bold white wingbar, horizontal bobbing walk, and stiff-winged shimmering flight low over water. Breeds along stony rivers and lake margins across Eurasia; winters in Africa, South Asia, and Australasia. Feeds on invertebrates. Long-distance migrant. Very widespread.

Sulawesi Woodcock

Sulawesi Woodcock: 32–36 cm, woodcock endemic to montane forest of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Nocturnal with cryptic brown plumage. Inhabits mossy forest above 1,000 m; probes leaf litter and soft soil for invertebrates. NT. Threatened by logging and agricultural conversion of highland forest. Sedentary island endemic.
