About These Birds
Basra Reed-warbler
The Basra Reed-warbler is an Endangered warbler of the family Acrocephalidae that breeds in reed beds of southern Iraq and winters in East Africa. Weighing about 20.9g with a wingspan of 16cm, it has plain brown-olive upperparts and pale underparts. Its breeding range is severely restricted by the drainage of Iraqi marshlands, making it highly vulnerable to habitat loss.
