Chestnut-banded Plover: 13–15 cm, small pale plover with a narrow chestnut breast-band and pale sandy upperparts. Resident at alkaline and saline lakes in eastern and southern Africa, with a separate population on the Namibian coast. Feeds on brine flies and invertebrates. NT. Sensitive to water-level fluctuations at soda lake breeding sites.
