Stitchbird (Hihi); a monotypic family with a single species endemic to New Zealand. Males have black-and-white head with yellow breast band. One of New Zealand's rarest birds; naturally restricted to Little Barrier Island but reintroduced to several others. Unique mating system includes forced copulations.
