The rock pigeon is the ancestor of all domestic pigeon breeds and one of the most abundant birds in cities worldwide. Medium green-pigeon, 26–29 cm, predominantly green with olive-yellow underparts; male has a small orange throat patch. Endemic to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal. Inhabits lowland and hill forest. Frugivore of figs and berries. Least Concern.
