Chestnut Forest Rail (Rallicula rubra), 20 cm. Entirely warm chestnut-rufous; short tail and red bill. Endemic to New Guinea (mountains above 1,200 m). Inhabits dense undergrowth of montane forest. Omnivore. Least Concern; common in suitable montane habitat.

Buff-spotted Flufftail (Sarothrura elegans), 14 cm. Male dark with buff spots on breast and wings; female brown. Inhabits dense undergrowth of Afromontane and lowland forest across sub-Saharan Africa. Omnivore. Least Concern; fairly widespread but rarely seen.
