Large, rotund pigeon, 38–40 cm, dark blackish-brown above, white below with a broad white collar and dark spots on the flanks. Australia's largest ground-nesting pigeon, inhabiting temperate rainforest and moist sclerophyll forest from Queensland to South Australia and Victoria. Frugivore of forest fruits and seeds. Least Concern.

Medium dove, 27–30 cm, with warm rufous-brown upperparts, a black neck collar, and a deep orange-red breast. Endemic to the highland plateaus and montane grasslands of northern Nigeria and Cameroon. Granivore of grass seeds and cultivated grains. Poorly studied and localised range. Least Concern.
