The Black-chested Buzzard-eagle is a large, powerful hawk of open Andean landscapes and adjacent lowlands in South America, from Colombia south to Tierra del Fuego. It has a distinctive dark grey breast and blackish upperparts contrasting with white underparts barred with grey.
