The Banded Cotinga is a Critically Endangered bird of the family Cotingidae endemic to the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil. Weighing about 65g with a wingspan of 22.8cm, the male displays brilliant turquoise and purple plumage with a bold black band. Severe deforestation has reduced its population to critical levels.

The Apolo Cotinga is an endangered passerine from Bolivia's Apolo region, weighing about 46 grams with a wingspan near 19 cm. It inhabits humid montane forests in a very restricted area of the Bolivian Andes. This rare cotinga remains poorly known due to its remote habitat and small population size.
