About These Birds

Perroquet noir

The Black Parrot is a medium-sized, uniformly brownish-black parrot with a grayish bill and a pale edge to the feathers giving a scaly appearance. It inhabits forests and forest edges of Madagascar, the Comoro Islands, and Seychelles, depending on availability of fruiting trees. It feeds on seeds, fruits, and flowers in the forest canopy and is important as a seed disperser in island ecosystems.
