Antillean Nighthawk

A small Caprimulgidae nighthawk (~56 g) of open scrub, savannas, and coastal habitats in the Caribbean from Cuba and Hispaniola to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Very similar to the Common Nighthawk but separated by voice. Migratory; winters in South America. Aerial insectivore; Least Concern.

Least Nighthawk

The smallest Chordeiles nighthawk (~30 g), family Caprimulgidae, inhabiting open cerrado, caatinga, and rocky savanna in eastern and central South America. Very small with brown and buff cryptic plumage; white tail band in males. Hunts small insects aerially at dusk. Least Concern in open lowland habitats.
