Flesh-footed Shearwater
41–45 cm, wingspan 99–107 cm. All-dark sooty-brown with pale flesh-coloured feet and yellowish bill base. Breeds southern Indian Ocean islands and SW Australia; ranges to North Pacific. Near Threatened; bycatch concern. Feeds on fish and squid; follows fishing vessels.
White-headed Petrel
43 cm, wingspan 109 cm. Large petrel with white head, grey back, and white underparts; dark upperwing. Breeds Kerguelen, Macquarie, Auckland, and Antipodes islands. Ranges in subantarctic to temperate Southern Ocean. Feeds on squid and fish; nocturnal at colonies.
