Flesh-footed Shearwater
41–45 cm, wingspan 99–107 cm. All-dark sooty-brown with pale flesh-coloured feet and yellowish bill base. Breeds southern Indian Ocean islands and SW Australia; ranges to North Pacific. Near Threatened; bycatch concern. Feeds on fish and squid; follows fishing vessels.
Cory's Shearwater
46–56 cm, wingspan 112–126 cm. Large shearwater; greyish-brown above with yellowish bill; white below with pale underwing. Breeds Macaronesia (Azores, Canaries, Madeira). Migrates across Atlantic to South Atlantic wintering grounds. Feeds on fish and squid; follows fishing vessels.
