A large Phasianidae partridge (~553 g) of rocky semi-arid terrain and loess gullies in the Gansu corridor and adjacent Yellow River basin, northern China. Closely related to Chukar but notably larger. Feeds on seeds, leaves, and invertebrates. Tolerates cold winters; forms winter coveys. Least Concern.

Mrs Hume's Pheasant

A slender Phasianidae pheasant (~889 g) of oak and pine forests in northeastern India, Myanmar, and southwestern China. Males feature blue-grey plumage with a long boldly barred tail. Diet includes seeds, berries, and invertebrates. Vulnerable owing to widespread deforestation and illegal trapping.
