The Black-hooded Oriole is a medium-sized, brilliantly colored oriole with a jet-black head and throat, vivid golden-yellow body, and black-and-yellow wings. It inhabits open deciduous forest, woodland, parks, and gardens across the Indian subcontinent and Sri Lanka. It feeds on insects, caterpillars, nectar, and fruits, foraging actively in the forest canopy and upper midstory.
