Scrub-birds; 2 species endemic to Australia—the Noisy Scrub-bird and Rufous Scrub-bird. Among Australia's most secretive birds; nearly flightless and remaining close to the ground in dense thickets. Males have extraordinarily loud calls. The Noisy Scrub-bird was feared extinct before rediscovery in 1961.
