La paloma-halcón de las Sangihe es una paloma endémica de las Islas Sangihe en Indonesia. Es la menos conocida de las palomas-halcón del género Gymnophaps. Tiene plumaje oscuro similar al de otras especies del grupo. Habita en los bosques remanentes de las islas volcánicas de Sangihe. Está amenazada por la severa deforestación y la fragmentación del hábitat en estas pequeñas islas.

Medium pigeon, 25–28 cm, plain ruddy brown with a grey crown and a distinctively short dark bill. Found in lowland and foothill humid forests from southern Mexico to western Ecuador. Frugivore of small forest fruits and berries. Often inconspicuous in dense forest understorey. Least Concern.
