La paloma-halcón de las Sangihe es una paloma endémica de las Islas Sangihe en Indonesia. Es la menos conocida de las palomas-halcón del género Gymnophaps. Tiene plumaje oscuro similar al de otras especies del grupo. Habita en los bosques remanentes de las islas volcánicas de Sangihe. Está amenazada por la severa deforestación y la fragmentación del hábitat en estas pequeñas islas.
Tanna Ground Dove
Small ground dove, 19–22 cm, ferruginous-rufous overall with a grey head and pale underparts. Extinct; formerly occurred on Tanna Island in Vanuatu. Last collected in the 19th century; became extinct through hunting and habitat loss following colonial settlement of the island.
