Southern Silvery Grebe
Southern Silvery Grebe (Podiceps occipitalis) is a small 28–34 cm Andean and sub-Antarctic grebe. Pale silvery-grey face and neck contrast with darker grey cap; yellow eye. Inhabits high-altitude Andean lakes in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina, also Falkland Islands. Locally common at altitude. Feeds on small invertebrates and fish.

Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus) is the smallest New World grebe at 21–27 cm. Dark grey overall in breeding plumage with yellow eye, blackish cap, and short bill. Inhabits small freshwater ponds, ditches, and marshes from the southern USA through Central and South America to northern Argentina. Feeds on small fish and aquatic invertebrates.
