About These Birds
Black-fronted Nunbird
The Black-fronted Nunbird is a medium-sized puffbird with mostly black plumage, a bright red bill, and a bold black forehead accentuating its large round head. It inhabits humid lowland and foothill forests from Colombia and Ecuador east through Amazonia to Brazil and Bolivia. It perches quietly on exposed branches in the forest midstory, sallying out to catch large insects and small lizards.
