About These Birds

Der Uhu gehört zu den größten Eulenarten der Welt; Weibchen erreichen mitunter eine Flügelspannweite von fast zwei Metern. Sein tiefer, dröhnender Ruf ist in ruhigen Nächten bis zu vier Kilometer weit zu hören. Als Spitzenprädator steht der Uhu an der Spitze der Nahrungskette unter den Vögeln und erbeutet auch andere Greifvögel wie Bussarde und kleinere Eulen.

The Albertine Owlet is a small, near-threatened owl weighing about 73 g with a wingspan of 26 cm. Endemic to the montane forests of the Albertine Rift in Central Africa, it is rarely observed and its habits are poorly known due to its remote and dense forest habitat.
