Eurasian Dotterel (Eudromias morinellus) is a medium 20–24 cm tundra plover. Breeding female strikingly colorful: chestnut belly, white breast band, and white supercilium. Males duller; females are the more brightly-colored sex in this reversed-role species. Breeds on high Arctic and mountain tundra; winters in Middle East and North Africa.

Common resident from Colombia south to Patagonia in open grassland, farmland, and urban parks. Insectivorous. Highly vocal and territorial. Expanding its range northward.
