About These Birds
Black-bibbed Cicadabird
The Black-bibbed Cicadabird is a Vulnerable species restricted to the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines, where it inhabits the interior of primary lowland and montane forests. Males are dark grey with a blackish throat bib, while females are barred brownish. Extensive deforestation on Mindanao has substantially reduced its forest habitat, placing this species under significant pressure.
