Hooded Crane
Hooded Crane (Grus monacha) is a medium 97–100 cm crane of East Asia. Dark slaty-grey body contrasts with white neck and head bearing bare red crown. Breeds in Siberia and northern China; winters in Japan, Korea, and Yangtze valley wetlands. Vulnerable; world population ~11,000 birds.
