A large swift (16-17 cm) endemic to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. Dark plumage. Aerial insectivore, foraging over forested rivers and near waterfalls. Nests behind large waterfalls, where the name derives. One of the least known Asian swifts.
