Pohnpei Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus ponapensis), 22 cm. Green with a lilac head and an orange-yellow breast; endemic to Pohnpei, Micronesia. Occupies primary forest above 200 m on this volcanic island. Frugivore. Vulnerable; total range barely exceeds 100 km².

Medium dove, 28–32 cm, brown with a distinctive black-and-white speckled neck patch, pinkish-buff breast, and long graduated tail. Native to South and Southeast Asia; introduced widely to Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and North America. Inhabits open woodland, urban parks, and farmland. Granivore of seeds and small grains. Least Concern.
