Red-moustached Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus mercierii), 27 cm. Green with a red moustachial streak and orange underparts; endemic to the Marquesas Islands. Last confirmed on Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa. Possibly Extinct; last reliably recorded in the 1970s. Threatened by introduced rats and cats.

Blue-spotted Wood-dove

Small dove, 20–23 cm, rufous-brown with two brilliant blue wing spots and a red bill base. Widespread in woodland, forest edge, and humid savanna across West and Central Africa from Gambia to Angola and Uganda. Granivore of seeds and small invertebrates on the forest floor. Least Concern.
