About These Birds

Enggano Cuckoo-Dove

Slender cuckoo-dove, 32–35 cm, uniform warm cinnamon-rufous with minimal barring and a relatively short tail. Restricted to Enggano Island off the southwestern coast of Sumatra. Inhabits dense lowland forest. Frugivore. Vulnerable due to extremely small range and ongoing forest loss on the island.

Medium green-pigeon, 27–30 cm; male has an orange breast and a lilac-purple neck band bounded by yellow, with green upperparts; female is plainer green. Found in dry and moist deciduous forest from India and Sri Lanka to Myanmar, Thailand, and Indochina. Frugivore of figs and berries. Least Concern.
