About These Birds

Enggano Cuckoo-Dove

Slender cuckoo-dove, 32–35 cm, uniform warm cinnamon-rufous with minimal barring and a relatively short tail. Restricted to Enggano Island off the southwestern coast of Sumatra. Inhabits dense lowland forest. Frugivore. Vulnerable due to extremely small range and ongoing forest loss on the island.

Slender cuckoo-dove, 30–34 cm, rufous-brown with a fine dark-barred back, long tail, and a distinctive dark (black) bill. Inhabits lowland and foothill forests of New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago. Frugivore of small forest fruits. Least Concern.
