The Black-headed Bulbul is a medium-sized bulbul with glossy black head, vivid yellow-green body plumage, and a blue-gray orbital ring that gives it a distinctive expression. It inhabits lowland and submontane forests, forest edges, and secondary growth from the eastern Himalayas through mainland Southeast Asia to the Greater Sundas. It feeds on berries, small fruits, and insects in the forest canopy and midstory.
