Flesh-footed Shearwater
41–45 cm, wingspan 99–107 cm. All-dark sooty-brown with pale flesh-coloured feet and yellowish bill base. Breeds southern Indian Ocean islands and SW Australia; ranges to North Pacific. Near Threatened; bycatch concern. Feeds on fish and squid; follows fishing vessels.
Spectacled Petrel
58 cm. Large, sooty-black petrel; ivory bill with dark markings; diagnostic white spectacle marks around eye. Breeds only Inaccessible Island (Tristan da Cunha). Vulnerable; entire breeding population on a single isolated island; at risk from longline fisheries and storms.
