Flufftails; 14 small, secretive rail-like birds found mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, with one species in Madagascar. Rufous and black patterned; highly secretive, inhabiting dense tall-grass wetlands and marshes. Among the most difficult birds to see; most easily detected by distinctive calls.
