Red-chested Buttonquail (Turnix pyrrhothorax) is a small 14–15 cm buttonquail of Australia. Female: bright chestnut-red breast on otherwise pale buff bird. Male duller. Inhabits open grasslands with tussock grass across northern and eastern Australia. Nomadic; tracks seasonal grass growth. Polyandrous with role-reversed sex.
