Black-breasted Buttonquail (Turnix melanogaster) is a medium 17–19 cm, striking buttonquail endemic to eastern Australia. Female has bold black face, throat and breast with white spotting; male duller. Inhabits dry vine thickets and rainforest edges in Queensland and northern New South Wales.
Luzon Buttonquail
Luzon Buttonquail (Turnix worcesteri) is a small buttonquail endemic to Luzon, Philippines. Sandy-buff above with dark markings; limited information due to rarity. Inhabits open grassland and scrub habitats on Luzon. Rarely recorded; considered Data Deficient by IUCN due to very few known specimens and sightings.
