Pied-billed Grebe
Pied-billed Grebe (Podilymbus podiceps) is a stocky 30–38 cm grebe of the Americas. Brown overall; distinctive thick bill with black band in breeding season (giving the 'pied' name). Inhabits freshwater ponds, marshes, and slow rivers from Canada to Argentina. Dives readily; can sink below surface without diving.

Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus) is the smallest New World grebe at 21–27 cm. Dark grey overall in breeding plumage with yellow eye, blackish cap, and short bill. Inhabits small freshwater ponds, ditches, and marshes from the southern USA through Central and South America to northern Argentina. Feeds on small fish and aquatic invertebrates.
