About These Birds

Blackpoll Warbler

The Blackpoll Warbler is a small, near-threatened warbler; breeding males have a black cap, white cheeks, and heavily black-streaked white underparts, while females and nonbreeding birds are streaked olive-green. It breeds in boreal forest from Alaska across Canada to Newfoundland, undertaking one of the longest overwater migrations of any songbird, flying nonstop to South America for winter. It feeds on insects and berries.
