About These Birds

Ruddy Quail-Dove

Small quail-dove, 22–27 cm; male has rufous-chestnut upperparts with purple gloss, a grey face stripe, and buff underparts; female is browner. The most widespread New World quail-dove, found in humid forest from Mexico through Central America and the Caribbean to Bolivia and southern Brazil. Terrestrial frugivore and seed-eater. Least Concern.
