About These Birds
Black-lored Babbler
The Black-lored Babbler is a medium-sized, social babbler with brown upperparts, pale underparts, and distinctive black lore patches in front of the eyes. It inhabits dense thickets, dry woodland, and bushy areas in east-central Africa, particularly around lake shores and river margins from Kenya to Tanzania. It forages in noisy groups through undergrowth for insects, berries, and small lizards.
