Temminck's Courser: 19–21 cm, small swift-running courser with rufous crown, black belly-patch, and pale supercilium. Widespread resident in sub-Saharan Africa from Senegal to Ethiopia and south to South Africa on burnt grassland and dry open savanna. Insectivorous; crepuscular. Nomadic, following grassland fires.
Little Pratincole
Little Pratincole: 16–19 cm, South Asia's smallest pratincole with pale sandy-grey plumage, black loral stripe, and white rump. Resident along large sandy rivers, reservoir shorelines, and open sandy ground across the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia. Hawks insects aerially. Largely sedentary; local nomadism.
