Small dove, 18–22 cm, with strongly scaled black-edged brown plumage giving an all-over scaled appearance, and a long tail. Found in open savanna, cerrado, and farmland from Venezuela and Trinidad across Brazil to Bolivia and Argentina. Granivore of small seeds on the ground. Least Concern.
