Indian Thick-knee
Indian Thick-knee (Burhinus indicus) is a medium 38–41 cm stone-curlew of South Asia. Similar to Eurasian Thick-knee but with scaly upperpart pattern; yellow eye. Inhabits dry rocky and sandy riverbeds, scrub, and open country across the Indian subcontinent and Sri Lanka. Resident; non-migratory. Crepuscular; feeds on invertebrates.

Water Thick-knee (Burhinus vermiculatus) is a medium 38–41 cm stone-curlew of sub-Saharan African waterways. Grey-brown above with fine vermiculations; bold white supercilium; large yellow eye; greenish-yellow legs. Inhabits sandy riverbanks, lake shores, and coastal mudflats.
