Calayan Rail (Aptenorallus calayanensis), 20 cm. Brown above; grey underparts; yellow-green bill; short wings suggesting flightlessness. Discovered in 2004; endemic to Calayan Island, Philippines. Inhabits forest undergrowth. Omnivore. Endangered; tiny single-island range with minimal forest remaining.
