Barbary Partridge

A medium Phasianidae partridge (~419 g) of rocky hillsides, scrub, and open slopes across North Africa, the Canary Islands, and Gibraltar. Grey-brown with a spotted chestnut-necklace pattern. Lives in pairs or small coveys; feeds on seeds, bulbs, and invertebrates. Least Concern; introduced as a gamebird in several regions.

Rock Bush-quail

A tiny Phasianidae quail (~64 g) of rocky scrub, dry grassland, and stony hillsides in peninsular India. Males are heavily barred dark brown and buff; females plainer. Coveys of 6–12 run swiftly among rocks and grass. Feeds on grass seeds and invertebrates. Least Concern; common in rocky terrain.
