White-browed Reed-warbler

The White-browed Reed-warbler (<em>Acrocephalus tangorum</em>) is a member of the family Acrocephalidae and is associated with wetland habitats, particularly in the Amur River basin region of northeastern China and adjacent areas. Detailed plumage and behavioral descriptions of this species are limited in the available literature. Nesting and clutch size data are not currently available. This species is assessed as Vulnerable, reflecting concerns about ongoing habitat loss and degradation of its wetland breeding grounds. Drainage and conversion of wetland habitats for agriculture represent the primary threats to this species. Very little is known about its wintering ecology or migration routes, making it one of the more data-deficient Vulnerable Acrocephalus warblers. Its restricted breeding range and dependence on intact freshwater wetland habitat underscore the importance of wetland conservation measures in northeastern Asia for the long-term protection of this species.
