Red-moustached Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus mercierii), 27 cm. Green with a red moustachial streak and orange underparts; endemic to the Marquesas Islands. Last confirmed on Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa. Possibly Extinct; last reliably recorded in the 1970s. Threatened by introduced rats and cats.

Large green-pigeon, 33–35 cm; male has bright yellow wing edges and shoulder patches contrasting with a grey head and green body; female is duller. Widespread across South Asia from Pakistan to southwestern China and Indochina, in deciduous forest, woodland, and farmland. Frugivore of figs and berries. Least Concern.
