丝光太阳天使蜂鸟分布于哥伦比亚安第斯山脉的云雾林地带。雄鸟喉部具彩虹光泽，体羽翠绿，腹部较淡。栖息于高海拔的森林和灌丛，以花蜜为食，也取食昆虫。是哥伦比亚安第斯山区的特有蜂鸟。
