It has a black back with buff streaking and warm rufous tones on the head and wings. It perches atop grass stems, singing persistently, and feeds on insects and small seeds.

Bar-winged Prinia

The Bar-winged Prinia is a Near Threatened small warbler of the family Cisticolidae endemic to the islands of Java and Bali in Indonesia. Weighing about 9g with a wingspan of 10.8cm, it has distinctive white-tipped wing coverts forming a bar across the wing. It inhabits scrub, grassland edges, and gardens where it feeds on small insects.
