A medium-sized turaco (40-45 cm) endemic to montane forests of the Albertine Rift in East Africa, particularly the Rwenzori Mountains, at 2,100-3,600 m. Dark blue-black plumage with a crimson crest. Frugivore of montane forest. A high-altitude African forest specialist.
Knysna Turaco
A medium-sized turaco (40-46 cm) endemic to the forests of southern South Africa, from the Knysna region to KwaZulu-Natal. Green plumage with crimson wing patches. Frugivore of Afromontane forest and coastal bush. South Africa's only forest-dwelling turaco.
