Talaud Rail
Talaud Rail (Gymnocrex talaudensis) is a poorly-known rail endemic to the Talaud Islands in the northern Moluccas, Indonesia. Similar to Blue-faced Rail; brown above with some rufous tones; bare facial skin. Inhabits forest and scrub on small islands. Known from very few specimens.
Okinawa Rail
Okinawa Rail (Hypotaenidia okinawae), 30 cm. Dark brown above; white-barred underparts; red bill and legs. Flightless or near-flightless; endemic to the northern forests of Okinawa, Japan. Omnivore: invertebrates and plant material. Endangered; fewer than 1,500 individuals; threatened by mongoose and traffic.
